Meet Terry Pannebaker
To celebrate the start of a new Spring season, local Famous 4th Street Cookie fans can meet the creator of the Blueberry Muffin Cookie – Terry Pannebaker! The new cookie flavor, available March 21, 2022 was adapted from the winning recipe of the Famous Cookie Baking Competition held in October of 2021. Pannebaker will visit the Reading Terminal Market on March 21 to hand out free Blueberry Muffin cookies to Famous customers from 12pm to 2pm to celebrate the first day of the first day of spring. Blueberry Muffin Cookie
The Blueberry Muffin cookie is made with dried blueberries, Belgian white chocolate chips, and a hint of lemon. Amateur baker and grand prize winner of the Famous Cookie Baking Competition, Terry Pannebaker, designed the recipe after a conversation with his wife as they sought out a “crumble-free” way to enjoy blueberry muffins.
Famous Cookie Baking Competition
The Famous Cookie Baking Competition was held during October 2021 in honor of National Cookie Month. Following an initial call for entries, a total of 18 original cookie recipes were submitted – eight of which were selected to advance to the semi-final tasting round. Of those eight, three Famous finalists were selected by a panel of judges and a group of Philadelphia Tastemakers to participate in a live bake-off at Reading Terminal Market where Pannebaker’s Blueberry Muffin Cookie took the crown.
As the grand prize winner, Pannebaker also received a $500 gift card from Reading Terminal Market, Reading Terminal Market and Famous 4th Street Cookie Company apparel, and a Reading Terminal Market gift basket.
