Try the Baking Competition Winning Cookie on November 9th
New cookie recipe was inspired by grand prize-winning recipe of the Famous Cookie Baking Competition
The Famous Cookie Baking Competition was in October 2023 in honor of National Cookie Month. Following an initial call for entries, a total of 18 original cookie recipes were submitted – nine of which were selected to advance to the semi-final tasting round. Of those nine, three Famous finalists were selected by a panel of judges to participate in a live bake-off at Reading Terminal Market where Pam’s Pistachio Cardamom Cookie took the crown.
The three finalist all were contenders to be the new flavor for the Famous 4th Street Cookie line up. The final three flavors were:
- Mint Mocha
- Krinkle Mocha
- Pistachio Cardamom
The Pistachio Cardamom cookie is made with Pistachios, Candied Orange and Cardamom. Amateur baker and grand prize winner of the Famous Cookie Baking Competition, Pam Wolfe, designed the recipe based on her chocolate chip cookie and her families’ favorite spice, Cardamom.
Pam and her family will visit the Reading Terminal Market on November 9, 2023 to hand out free Pistachio Cardamom samples to Famous customers from 12pm to 2pm.“ Fans of our Famous cookies are sure to love the new Pistachio Cardamom Cookies,” said Tina Phillips, owner, The Famous 4th Street Cookie Company. “It’s been so fun to see this cookie develop from a casual conversation to a home chef’s recipe into a fully-fledged Famous cookie. As the grand prize winner, Pam also received a $500 gift card from Reading Terminal Market, Reading Terminal Market and Famous 4th Street Cookie Company apparel and swag and of course Famous 4th Street Cookies.
